As an expat living in America, holidays have a different meaning for me. My family lives thousand miles away from me and it is almost impossible to meet them during such small breaks. Hence I take mini vacations within US. It was not always easy to travel when I was still doing my undergraduate but now I have more flexibility, I look at any holiday breaks as an opportunity to explore new places.
2007 – Omaha, Nebraska/All over Colorado
2008 and 2009 – School 🙁
2010 – Boston, Massachusetts
2011 – New York City, New York
2012 – Chicago, Illinois
2013 – All Over Australia
As you read this, I will be on a plane making my way to Seattle (or already in Seattle) to visit my former college roommate and her husband. I will be spending my Christmas break with them and cherishing some good old uni days!
