Acai bowl

DSC05416Since we will be eating a lot over the coming few days, I thought I would throw in a quick breakfast recipe that I just made for myself today. It is very easy on your belly and will probably balance out all the heavy eating you will be doing. There are many versions of Acai bowl and I don’t believe there is a right or wrong way of creating an Acai bowl as long as you have Acai as one of your ingredients. So without further delay here is my recipe.

You will need:

  1. Acai powder, organic freeze-dried is better
  2. Any berries.  I used raspberries  and blueberries. I also added some mangoes this time.
  3. Almond milk or coconut water. I used almond milk this time.
  4. Hemp seed or powder
  5. Goji berries
  6. Muesli
  7. Sliced almonds
  8. Banana
  9. Honey to make it a little sweeter.

Mix ingredients 1 to 3 in a blender until its smooth like an ice-cream. If you are using frozen berries then the texture will be like ice cream.

Pour the blend into a bowl and mix it with your favorite muesli and Hemp seed or powder.

Slice bananas and spread it over the mixture. Make sure to make it look pretty! Top it with sliced almonds, goji berries and a bit of honey.

Consume!
