Grace Hopper Conference 2015 – Day 3

Day 3 of Grace Hopper Conference was pretty light compared to the first 2 days.  There were few sessions that I marked in my app but most of it turned out to be the 15 minutes IOTs. So I had a lot of free time to plan things on the go. Here are few pictures of some of the activities from the day.

Session on how Spotify recommends music

Best part of the day was visiting Facebook’s Empathy Lab and learning about Safety Check system. Safety check was an integral part during the earthquakes in Nepal earlier this year. It was without doubt one of the useful tools during the distress.

Food at the conference without a doubt was bananas…like literally bananas 🙂

Ending GHC15 with lots of dancing!

We were told there would be a big surprise at the closing but we never found out what the surprise was. There were a lot of rumors about fireworks and even Beyonce since she is from Houston but none of that happened. There was an accident at the ballpark earlier in the day. Some scaffolding fell down and people got hurt. We assumed that the big surprise was actually firework which got cancelled after the incident. Overall it was still a good 3rd day!
