Thanksgiving was a little different this year. Instead of staying in and carving our own turkey, A and I decided to head to Chicago . We still had a good thanksgiving dinner though.
Whenever we have a long weekend and we don’t have a proper vacation planned, this has been our go to place. We have been to Chicago so many times that it almost feels like a second home now, after Ames maybe. It almost feels like we should invest in a condominium there. We usually don’t do touristy things when we are in Chicago but this time we decided to go to few places that we still haven’t visited. This included the Field museum and John Hancock Tower. Here are few pictures from the trip.
Early morning annual McDonald’s Thanksgiving parade.
Daley Square for some Glühwein at Christkindlmarkt.

Spent a day with Sue the T-Rex and friends at Field Museum
Special Exhibition on Tibet. My grandfather spent significant time in Tibet when he was young. So this was exciting to see. Plus it is very close to my religion as well. Bajya as we like to call him used to tell us stories about Tibet. He also taught us few phrases in Tibetan. Tashi Delek to my Tibetan readers (if any).
Found my own country ‘Sakya’. Now all I need to do is go claim it 😛

Pit stop at Magnolia Bakery
